DEVELOPING STORY: "Strikes to the Face, Kicking, and Elbows." Violent Reports Surface from Florida Immigration Facility
ATLANTA— Two sources with direct knowledge of operations inside the Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport (TNT), said use-of-force incidents have sharply increased since the Florida Department of Corrections takeover.
“We’re talking about strikes to the face, kicking, and elbows,” one insider said regarding the treatment of those in custody.
As we previously reported, the so-called “Alligator Alcatraz” appears to be spiraling further under the FDC.
Part of the spike may be due to a change in how force is categorized, but sources insist the reality is grim.
Violence inside the facility remains a concern, according to sources.
We have reached out to the Florida Department of Corrections and have not heard back.
This story is developing.
