Nick, you have just made yourself part of the family, probably many families, through your honesty, vulnerability and grace. You are an inspiration. Thank you.
I really appreciate and benefit from Aaron Parnas' and Jim Acosta's podcasts. However, what I really wanted to say was that the more I listen to your podcasts, the more I respect you professionally and as a human being. In this podcast, I found myself mesmerized when you laid out your personal struggles with depression, anxiety and more. In addition to the depression and anxiety I've had since childhood, I got PTSD from working for Child Protective Services as a social worker working with sexually abused children. Recently, my counselor told me that I have ADHD. Like you, I found my eyes opened to a lot of question marks in my llife, such as the uncompleted Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.
Given what you revealed in this podcast, I know it's important for you -- like me -- to take time to de-stress, and yet you seem not to take breaks from broadcasting the crucial (and heartbreaking) stories about what's going on in the Latino communities. So, Bravo, but also por favor, cuidate.
Aaron Parnas really is a super star journalist. He goes above and beyond to cover the news in an honest, straight-forward manner. I have nothing but respect for Aaron and highly recommend following him.
I am a paid subscriber to all three of these gentlemen... what an awesome trio of true journalists! Thank you again for your reporting and insights into the daily events of our country, especially during these trying times!
Nick, I just came across you for the first time when you were with Aaron. I am now subscribed. But I want to thank you for your story about your PTSD and ADHD. When you said how the light bulb went on, I said that's me! When you get that ADHD diagnosis, it explains so much about your whole life, and your description of living with half a brain is exactly what I feel like. There's so many of us out there, and then Aaron tells us about his ADHD issues, it's crazy. So thank you for helping me know the difficulty I have concentrating enough to accomplish tasks is not dementia (I'm a boomer), and I'm not inept. We just have to work really hard to accomplish what we need to do! 🙏
Great episode great guests on the future of journalism. Its so disturbing watching the mainstream media slowly move to the right, under pressure from the trump regime. Thank goodness, we have the substack platform with so many brilliant journalists to get the real story. To still be able to get the truth!
Why is there not more focus on those behind Trump pulling the strings. Trump's interest is expanding his money, but Miller, Vought, Thiel interests are creating an autocracy. They need to be daily in front of the American people and held accountable.
CONGRATULATIONS Nick! I work with those with addiction and treat those in recovery. I am so happy for you, saying that, recovery is an arduous road. Have you been screened for ADHD? Many people use alcohol to help slow their mind down. You will succeed, you persevere.
So far this is my favorite episode.
Just so proud of you, Nick! Keep doing all the things!

GREAT show, and thank you for being so vulnerable (again)

Congratulations on your sobriety. It’s not easy.
A day at a time ❤️
